AGM stands for: Absorption Glass Mat. It is a deep cycle sealed battery mostly used in Marine, RV and Aviation applications.

AGM batteries provide a higher starting power, a higher discharging capacity and a longer service life.

The electrolyte (battery acid) is absorbed between the plates in the battery, preventing spilling of battery acid during handling of the battery under different applications, allowing the battery to be at any angle, and not necessarily in an upright position continuously.
