The highest Amp-hour battery provides the longest use-time. Deep cycle batteries are designed for deep cycles of discharge and are best suited to inverter use. Automotive batteries are best suited for starting, and not much else.

Generally, the larger and heavier the battery, the higher the Amp hour rating. Higher Amp hour ratings equal more power capacity, and thus longer run-time.
