The Dust Buster and Scum Buster require a minimum 16-hour initial charge with the switch in the "O" position. Charging overnight may differ from a full 16 hours. The unit may warm during charging, which is normal. They can remain on the charger indefinitely without damage. Run times vary, and multiple charges may be needed initially. Clean after each use and recharge promptly. The battery uses minimal electricity.
For all Dust Busters and Scum Busters, the recommended charge time is a minimum of 24 hours the first time. After this, charge for 16 hours. You can also remain on the charger indefinitely without damage or concern.
Make sure the On/Off switch is in the "O" position. The unit will not charge if the switch is in any other position.
In some units, the charge indicator light will be illuminated. The batteries used in the Dust Buster and Scum Buster will not develop a memory. While charging, the unit might get warm to the touch. This is normal and not a reason for concern.
Run times will vary depending on the model. Your unit may require several charges before reaching the average run time.
For best results, empty and clean your unit after each use. Return the unit to the charger after each use. The battery use very little electricity and in most cases consumes less than half the amount of electricity used by a common night light.
