Note: Confirm from the manual if the filter is washable. You can check this information in the manual. If your unit has a cloth filter, it's washable.

1. Remove the filter from the vacuum.
2. Tap the filter gently on a hard surface to knock off loose dirt and dust.
3. Rinse the filter under cool or warm running water. Use a gentle stream so you don’t damage the filter. Don’t use hot water.
4. Check your vacuum’s manual to see if you can use soap. If yes, wash the filter with warm, soapy water.
5. If you used soap, rinse the filter well with clean water to remove all soap.
6. Shake off extra water from the filter.
7. Let the filter air dry completely before putting it back in the vacuum. Make sure it is fully dry to avoid damaging your vacuum.
