New cordless dustbuster hand vac CHV141OL does not charge.

I just took my new cordless dustbuster hand vac CHV141OL out of its previously unopened box, and it does not charge. No charge light when I place it on its pulled-in charger base. I checked the wall outlet, and the wall outlet is fine. What is my next step?

  I’m having the same issue. Got this for Christmas last year & only took out of the box today. Will not charge
