I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE MY BRAND NEW BLACK +DECKER DUSTBUSTER WON'T CHARGE , NEW OUT OF THE BOX.. IT WAS A GIFT.

I just got a B&D Pivot Cordless hand vac - BDH2000PL, PLAM, or PLA, and it's not charging, no light coming on. Please let me know what to do. Thanks

I have the same issue as Sarah Boone. I just took my new cordless dustbuster hand vac CHV141OL out of its previously unopened box, and it does not charge. No charge light when I place it on its pulled-in charger base. I checked the wall outlet, and the wall outlet is fine. What is my next step?

It seems black and Decker has the same issue with these handheld VACS. I have the flex VAC, DH 2020 FLwith lithium batteries. It is brand new right out of the box and will not charge and I have no LED lights whatsoever. I’ve had it charging for over a day now and I still don’t have any power going to the unit. Very disappointing for black and decker as this is the second vacuum I’ll have to throw out in a matter of three days. My other handheld didn’t last long before the motor burned out. isn’t there something black and decker can do as it appears there’s some sort of manufacturing issue with these units or are expected to just accept the loss of $$$ and just use another manufacturer?

I have a B&D 12v hand vac that is new and just opened. The vac will not charge and the indicator light is not on. I have tried multiple outlets, reset the gfi and checked the breaker. All were fine but the vac will not charge.
Mine was also a gift so I am unsure of the retailer and do not have a receipt. Bummer. -
why is my brand new out of the box BLACK+DECKER dustbuster PIVOT VAC Cordless Handheld Vacuum, Home and Car Vacuum with Crevice Tool and Pivot Nozzle (BDH2000PL) not charging. The light doesn’t even turn on?

I love how there are no replies in this chat. Black+Decker used to be a name you could trust—apparently, not anymore! My second brand-new BLACK+DECKER Dustbuster PIVOT VAC Cordless Handheld Vacuum is also dead straight out of the box. I sent in the first one for replacement, received another, and it’s the same story: dead on arrival. I charged it overnight, but nothing. The blue LED indicator doesn’t flash. I’ve tested the outlet and personally verified the voltage in the charging unit, and everything checks out. I’m an Electrical and Computer Science Engineer with two advanced degrees. I believe the units you're selling have defective batteries, or you're storing these Lithium-ion batteries improperly, leading to a dead battery that can no longer hold a charge. You’ve been a household name for decades, but not anymore—not in my house!

The same thing happened to me. Finally the 3rd one worked. It’s crazy how the company has become. I own from drill sets to vac. I would never imagine that they wouldn’t bother to answer their customers questions.
