Can the LBXR20 battery drain on it's own?

What would cause the LXBR20 to drain if not being used? Twice now, after receiving a full charge, I put the battery back on the LST300 trimmer so it's ready to go when I need it. After about 2 weeks of no use I go to do some weed whacking and the battery required another charge. What is causing the battery to drain if it's not powering the trimmer? Should it NOT be connected to the trimmer when not in use?

Hi, Dan White, we're sorry to hear the batteries are draining at a fast rate.
The battery may drain if attached to the tool faster than being on its own. Also, the age of the battery can play a role in this. Batteries life expectancy is 2-5 years from the date of manufacturing (date code on the battery example 2018 23 Year and week of the year). This could be the reason it is not staying fully charged.
