Unable to charge new handheld vacuum

Hi I purchased a BLACK+DECKER Dustbuster Advanced clean Cordless Handheld Vacuum - HLVA315J22 in May. I only needed to charge it for the first time the other day. However I went back to get it after it was charging over night and it was dead. I tried different outlets, unplugging it and nothing. It seems the light isn’t coming on either.
What would be the next step in this situation? The last handheld vacuum I had from B&D lasted a long time. I’m surprised by this.
