Why can't I find a replacement battery for Dustbuster PD1820L?

I have previously been able to replace the battery, and I am puzzled why I can no longer do this? With so many threads online querying this, why has Black and Decker not made this part available again?
I recently (January 2025) contacted the helpdesk for a replacement battery, who referred me to a dealer (at that point it seemed like it was available, at least according to the BD helpdesk) - but now I seem to be at a dead end.
Come on, Black and Decker! Why do you sell a product if you don't supply the spare parts!
Or is there someone on this forum who can help me?
