Trimmer/Edger non-stop auto feed

I have an electric Black and Decker Trimmer/Edger (LST300) and the line continually auto feeds out, causing me to have to stop the unit every minute and manually cut the line so it operates well again. Also it uses up all the line feed very quickly.
Is there any way to fix the unit so it doesn't auto feed so quickly?

I created this account just so I could help since I had the same issue... If you remove the spool cap, you will likely find the lever for the AFS is missing, as was mine. Part #90567079. I found several options for the part on Amazon, including from the Amazon Black & Decker store. Best of luck!
