Bad .9 portable washer

I recently purchased the Black and Decker 0.9cu feet portable washing machine and have a question.
When I put it on the L3 (largest load) setting the spin cycle sets itself to 55 minutes. Nothing I have tried has been able to decrease this amount. I've tried holding the spin button, just pressing the spin button (as per the manual) and nothing allows me to change it.
The L1 and L2 settings seem to work fine. 55 minutes for a spin cycle seems ludicrous to me. Is there something I'm missing or did I get a faulty product?
