BV3100 won't vac, but has power

I have a BV3100 blower/vac. When I use the vac it will stop discharging debris into the bag after a few moments. If I open the bag and relieve the pressure it will work again for a few moments. It seems that the pressure gets so high in the bag that no more debris can be blown in. The vac itself has lots of suction because debris will collect in the pickup tube and finally drop out. This is a ongoing problem. Any help? Thanks
