I'm so angry right now. I bought a Black & Decker cordless lawnmower in May off Amazon. It worked fine at first, but when I tried to mow last Saturday, it wouldn't start.
I had 2 fully charged batteries, but neither worked. I know it's not the batteries, because they worked in my hedge trimmer.
Of course, I was 2 days beyond the Amazon 30-day return window. So I had to contact Black & Decker for warranty repair. They sent me a shipping label, and I let them know I didn't have a box big enough for the mower. The email response indicated "UPS can give you one" - I assumed that meant it was covered in the return.
UPS said I had to pay $80 for the box (they actually had to make one big enough), so I called Black & Decker right after, assuming they would reimburse me. NOPE!
The reason I got Black & Decker is because I have a bunch of other B&D tools, and want to share the batteries. I told them I'm a long-time customer and let them know all the B&D tools that I have,. I said I couldn't believe they're going to lose a good customer over $80 - especially when I had to return a piece of equipment that shouldn't be breaking down in barely a month! They couldn't care less.
I will never buy another B&D item again,
